Forlorn Ruin
Forlorn Ruin is a vast disposal site for countless failed biological experiments—discarded remnants used to create the Boss Raid monsters. A human scientist who vanished long ago managed to escape and hide there.
After the rumor spread that Jin-Drake had been defeated, the scientist went to the Lagferant Command and revealed the existence of Forlorn Ruin. Once a massive dumping ground for experimental organisms, it has now become a place so dangerous that even the Neo Progmare avoid it.
The scientist claimed that something highly precious to the Neo Progmare lies somewhere within Forlorn Ruin, which is divided into four sectors. Expecting to confirm the truth behind this group—linking the original Progmare to the Neo Progmare—and to eliminate the threat, Lagferant Command decided to dispatch many heroes.
The scientist asked to personally verify who was worthy to enter Forlorn Ruin, and the Command approved. Seeking compensation for years of suffering, the scientist demanded valuable goods from the heroes in exchange for the method to register Forlorn Ruin coordinates into a designated transfer device.
A new mission begins for the heroes who must conquer Forlorn Ruin and get closer to the truth behind the Neo Progmare. The heroes who arrived looked around—like an industrial waste processing site, roofless, surrounded by massive walls with no way out. Beyond the safe zone prepared by the Command, small dinosaur-like enemies lurk. Though small, their numbers and power make it hard to move, and the shattered pieces of experiments piled everywhere deepen the desolation and fear.
Diary of Major Martin, hero of Lagferant
Expedition Day 30
This place is like a land of demons from old myths. Our expedition began with a full company including myself, but we were cut down—only half remain. Those grotesque creatures devour the bodies of comrades, and even I, hardened by war, feel fear.
Expedition Day 50
The soldiers who remain after pushing deep are the elite of Lagferant. Is what the scientist spoke of truly important to the Command? Doubt remains, but after examining the enemies we have slain, many look like prototypes of the various lifeforms that appeared since the Progmare—and later the Neo Progmare—emerged. These abandoned subjects survived here and grew stronger.
Expedition Day 70
Today I saw that demon again. It resembles a prototype of the Lamia we once saw in Barsha. A serpent wielding a giant scythe—unlike Lamia, it possesses terrifying power. Defeating it may bring us closer to the truth.
Expedition Day 77
Only after half of the remaining unit was sacrificed could we finally kill the serpent. From its belly, we obtained a small memory card. At the site where the serpent fell, there was a device that could move us to the second sector. The Command will establish a safe zone there and enable travel to Sector 2.
Expedition Day 100
Reinforcements arrived. With new heroes deployed, I handed command to Major Kelru. After rest and reorganization, we volunteered to scout Sector 2.
Expedition Day 120
Just when we thought progress would be easier than in Sector 1, we met enemies far too strong. Forced to retreat again and again, we left too many casualties behind.
